Donald Eastwood

Strategic Advisor

Donald Eastwood holds master’s degrees from Cambridge University and MIT, and has previously worked as a journalist and producer for the BBC, The Times and Penguin. Donald’s work with the BBC lead him to Myanmar, where he co-founded the country’s first public sector communications and behaviour change agency. He has designed and implemented economic interventions or campaigns for over 40 IGOs, INGOs, donors and government ministries: to raise the exclusive breastfeeding rate, support female political candidates, to reduce stigma around disabled children in IDP camps. This has included award-winning projects for UNICEF, Save the Children, UNOPS and FHI360. His current focus is on how machine learning can support the targeting, measurement, and analysis of interventions like these.
